ok i'd like to protect a map of mine using wc3 Mapoptimizer 4.6 (latest ver i guess)
now the proplem: when i want to open the map ingame there's nothing!

the protected map has the same name as the original

if I am not totally wrong (long since I made a map)

you can do this:

-open your map
-"save as" [your map name]protected. (to ensure that you have a backup map)
-open [your map name]protected. map
-Import a blank notepad file and call it wc3map.wtg
-save
-{protected}

that will mess up the triggers so world edit cant open it but you can still play the map

You're not allowed to discuss map protection/de-protection. I'll take it as a thing with Map Optimizer, hopping that you do not post alternate ways of protection.

By the way, what dinah means is that the map isn't shown on the custom game list, for what I understood.

Can you open the "unprotected" map in Warcraft3 ?

=====================================
Maybe its not a map, but a campaign you made ?
Then the ending is different: Normal maps have .w3m
And campaigns have .w3n
I dont think thats the mistake, but maybe it is...
