He does. Also do you use those two as leads? My current leads are lanturn and zapdos and they usually do well, but then I have a hard time making the kingdra survive long enough to do more than just get rain down. (maybe sash it?)

Also for those of you who still believe those starter evos, have some copypasta:

JohnAnon !wjuppJOHQo 09/08/10(Wed)17:52 No.1759019

>>1758882
Breaking it down into smaller, more digestible arguments for copypasta:

-PokExperto is the main source of these fakes, he has been the source of two fake sprites of the evos so far. He now claims the Pokabu3 sprite was real but the screenshot was faked to "cover it up". >_<

-Error Level Analysis shows that the images are heavily photoshopped, even when using the original uncropped images.

-The body of Pokabu2 matches Lickilicky's right down to the M on his chest remaining intact

-Smugleaf2 was traced next to Wotter2, from the beta art sheet--Wotter2's head is visible beside Smugleaf2's in the fakes and there are inconsistencies from the beta art to the fake art

-They are not Sugimori art, which would indicate they are animation art sheets, much like the beta sheet revealed a while ago. Animation art sheets are used as color indicators and proportion charts so Pokemon appear the same size consistently and when compared to other Pokemon on screen. In theory, if the two evolutions of the starters are meant to be from an animation sheet, they would be in scale with each other and to the left we would see their first stages (Mijumaru, Tsutaja and Pokabu) as additional size references.

-The starters are meant to be marketable, "edgy and cool", particularly the one Ash will use and fully evolve (Charizard, Sceptile, Infernape, etc.) Mijumaru's quadroped evo doesn't fall in line with previous starter lines, and the anime writers plan ahead of time with marketing in mind.

-Archaic has called Serebii's source into question, although it is clear Serebii truly believes the starters.

-Show of hands, who heard of PokExperto or Melkor before a week and a half ago? No one. Yet Melkor announces he has the game and suddenly he's in the spotlight. If he had the game, leaking screenshots/information would be easy.

-Melkor claims to have chosen Pokabu as his starter yet he cannot provide names for the evolutions.

If you can't keep it alive then it would probably be a good lead.

Keep in mind, you don't really need them to be out at the same time. You just need to have constant rain support throughout the match. What a lot of players do is only put their weather caster in play the turn before their weather ends. After they throw up weather, if they can setup a sweep, then they do so. If they can't, then they swap it out.

Too bad big guy got stuck on NU. He's really badass with max. Happiness Return.

Who knows? Maybe he and Miltank will get Pre-Evo and Evo. :D

Being stuck in NU isn't all that bad. He's one of the strongest Poke's in the game, but once you get past the fact that he only has 1 viable strategy (pure attack) you kind of lose interest in him. He can still make for a good revenge killer in OU.

tl;dr: he was really popular a couple years ago, but he was way too easy to counter.

Yeah. I figured he can pretty much one-hit anything in NU (Except ones with high defenses such as Ampharos). Plus Tauros has a viable speed.

Although its only weaknesses are easily beatable by Earthquake (Rock/Steel), Zen Headbutt (Fighting and Ghost) and Payback/Pursuit (Ghost).

But his small range of moveset pretty much make a big limit, though. :/

Anyone used Shoddy here?

pokemon sunday had nothing new. they just showed elespider, axeface, and sarcophagus

no news on the starters

oh, and a silhouette of one of those monkeys... the spade tail one

Anyone used Shoddy here?

I use pokemon online - it looks nicer than shoddy, doesn't have as many bugs, and supports a big range of different side games, including doubles

I played on it for a couple of weeks about a year and a half ago. My connection wasn't good enough to battle on :ogre_frown:

Closet pokemon fan here. I had a EV bred team about a year ago, with EV shinies and stuff, covering the best pokemen, and diverse pokeman types. I also have the HeartGold version, but I lack the ability to trade them over, so I'm stuck with a crappy team for now. I have the jap version, if it's any relevance. I got it when I was studying overseas in China, and went on a holiday to Japland. I also like bragging about my lack of life, and pokemon team, as demonstrated. I don't think that my wifi works either.

i heard that Black and White pokemon are going to have no affiliation with previous pokemon. that means NO tauros evo, NO shaymin evo (which is actually the season pokemon) and NO Luvdisc evo (darn it!)

i'm so dissapointed

What? That one legendary (I'm assuming it's legendary) is ground and flying, how would that even work? I mean that cancels out both it's type strengths and type weaknesses.

Also I can see they really put emphasis on fighting type this game, I guess it's due as they're weren't really that many new fighting additions in the last few games.

Same with bug/steel. There's actually a bug/steel legendary now...lol

Anyway, the game is really fun. They really re-visited their roots of Red/Green. If you were hoping for a brand new game (it literally feels like a new genre) then you are in for a great surprise.

Sorry to all those who wanted the game to be a spitting image of D/P/Pt. It's still true to the original Pokemon series though, just not the actual Pokemon.

Meh, it seemed like they wanted D and P (didn't play platinum so I can't say for that one) to have an epic storyline, and in the process made it one of the most forgettable yet because they were trying too hard - I mean really.... you catch pretty much the god of time or space in the game because an evil cliche genius wanted to create his own dimension and beat, pretty badly - with all of them having the exact same pokemon it's not like they made any effort to make them any more then just exp feeders - a bunch of guys in space suits in the process.

Aside from that, the global trade station is a failure (unless of course you want a level 5 bidoof for a level 100 Arcuius).

Really it seems like the main redeeming factor for the game is online battling.

ROM's out, can't link it here though. Just go to /vp/ or something; the link's all over the place there

EDIT: HOLY SHIT DREAM WORLD ABILITIES

http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/dreamworldabilities.shtml

blaziken speed boost? I'll take 20

other notables:
ninetails - drought
alakazam - magic guard
mr mime - technician
flareon - guts (now lets just hope to hell it finally gets a good fire physical move)
a bunch of things get lightningrod (why the hell does goldeen get it)
typhlosion - flash fire
lanturn - water absorb :D
poiltoed - drizzle
three legendary dogs - flash fire / volt absorb / water absorb respectively
sceptile - unburden
breloom - technician (MACH PUNCH WILL FUCKING HURT)
sharpedo - speed boost
cacturne - water absorb
altaria - cloud nine
lickylicky - cloud nine
infernape - iron fist
rypherior - reckless
gliscor - poison heal
