I've downloaded a few maps the last few days, and I've noticed that some of the maps I've downloaded will not show up in the custom games. I've unzipped it, put them in the right folder etc etc. I can see the files in the folders as .w3x files, but I cannot see the maps in custom games. Could someone tell me how to fix this problem?

Another question: Is there a way to allow wc to show other languages than just english? I wanted to try some maps in different languages, but it's frustrating to see blanks where text should be.

>_> I already did. It's not the problem of where the maps are located. it's the problem of WC not being able to recognize it... or something.

First of all i dont see this as a problem, since u can play the maps and u dont need to download them again, u just dont see the little minimap picture when u are browsing games if the map is in your wc3 maps folder. Anyway, if u feel its important to see the minimap pics u need to move those maps from your maps folder to your downloads folder, the folder where all your maps go when u download them on battle.net.

Yeah, i've same problems too. one solution that i've got, open that map on world editor, test the map, then you'll play that map. After you're in warcraft3, exit that game. go to directories 'test map' on your warcraft3 folder. There are .w3x file on that directory, copy it to your warcraft3 map folder, this one should the map that you've tested before. Then, rename it like the original one.

If that map was protected, so i don't have any idea....

I dunno if this is the problem but maybe the file is corrupt, but than again if it was corrupt maybe you wouldnt of been able to unzip it... And also, do you have the frozen throne? if you dont you cannot play the frozen throne maps, that may also be a problem, or another solution is the patch number, try getting the latest.

Woah.. haven't check back here for a while..
Thanks for all your replies, guys. Yes, I do have frozen throne. It's not being unable to see the map icon in game creation, but it's the problem of not being able to see the map as an available map in game creation.
I'll try shortening the map names, and see if that solves anything.

Yup. Shortening the name fixed it. Thanks DarkShadow, I can finally play those maps now. And thanks a lot to everyone else who replied.
