player 1 and 7 slots free like in dota

hi everyone, i would like to know how in dota the guy set slot 1 and 7 empty to have arbitres but they're is still red comp and green comp in game.Lot of peoples say that it's neutral creeps slots etc but with this solution, you have black color for units on minimap even if you set the color to red and also instead of team name on unit you have unit name0.
If i use red player slot and set it to none in players when as arbitre i'm in game i will have the "control" of red units without being able to send orders, but i will see the units on minimap in white like evey units who is yours.
What to do then ?

Just because a player doesn't have a human or computer controlling doesn't mean it can't be used. Just use triggers to name the empty slot, set its alliance settings with a team, and when it spawns order the units to attack move to a certain area. I hope thats what you were asking.

Its simple. This is what i did: Under Scenario Properties, set the controller for Red and Green to Neutral. Then, add the computer players to their respective forces, eg. Red to Sentinel, and use triggers to set the alliances for the Sentinel players to treat Red as ally and Red to treat the Sentinel players as allies with SHARED VISION. Also set the alliance of Red to the Scourge players to enemies and vice versa.

yes i want them usables as arbitres but that's easy to do, the mystery is how to have on minimap red color and green color.

When you do this, it changes the color, even on the minimap.
  • Player - Change color of Player 1 (Red) to Red, Changing color of existing units

Yes. On the minimap only Neutral Hostile remains black and shows the name and level of a unit when pointed with the mouse. However, I cannot figure out how to show player names of the Neutral Victim, Neutral Passive and Neutral Extra.

That's why i asked about this problem :)
i really wonder how dota guy did this map, for my point of view it's not neutral units it's red and green but with none statut, but then there is something to change about arbitre but dunno why.

Gees this is one real pickle!
Under Map Properties you can chane name, color and contol of all players. I dont think the DotA guy has done anything else than changed these.:eekani:
Just make Player Red computer controled and chande name.
Same with Player Green.
The attacks in DotA are made by triggers. Not a trigger pro so cant say them.

No, it is clearly written. He wants red and green to be invisible in the waiting room in the game. Go to "Scenario -> Player Properties" and set their controllers to Neutral. Then put them in the appropriate forces and give them names. Everything will be okay, including the minimap colors you are so embarrassed about.

i tried it 's ok in game, i mean no black units on minimap but the pb is that u can't have observers in the game.Then neutral is not the solution imo.

I think I do.

For the observers, yes, in Player properties their controller is a user, but they have disabled user control and no units. Sentinel and Scourge are Neutral Victim and Neutral Extra, this is what I've figured out.
