[General] Play a single animation frame?

I've seen it in some chinese maps and such, but does anyone know how to take the current single frame of animation that a unit is playing and make a dumy unit repeat it (Afterimage kind of thing), as far as i know there's no function for it in straight up GUI, are there any custom scripts that can help etc?
