  • Open world Action RPG with 45 heroes mostly based loosely on old school Blizzard characters/classes with a few new designs
  • Evolving units and many customized items with unique and useful combinations
  • Features a spell damage system where your max mana is converted into a small amount of AoE damage and/or AoE healing at multiple points with multiple radiuses for all major abilities, every spell cast requires perfect precision for maximum effect
  • "Dodging" feature where most AI attacks MUST hit in order for them to damage, combined with high AI melee damage adds to the Action RPG element (this does not effect PvP)
  • Scripted difficult boss encounters
  • Hardcore loss of levels, gold and a possible random item along with a generally slow stat growth and aggressive unpredictable AI makes PvP combat meaningful and allows weaker characters to strategically outplay geared enemies
  • Constantly reworked map built over 15 years with thousands of hours of development/rebuilding
  • Currently in BETA, although single player only has minor issues, not bug tested for multiplayer at all, but is currently playable with others for testing purposes, recommended to run with Reforged graphics mode as some icons are missing
  • 0.3.0 Reforged version consistently updated project available below (link removed when hotfixing bugs)
  • 100s of hours of content (good luck with prestige challenges... L O L xD)

(Screenshots show Reshade effects notably sharpening, motion blur, bloom, CA and technicolor. Motion blur clears some of the animation and frame jittering bugs in these beta versions and it is recommended. Added the default Reshade below, extract to *\Warcraft III\_retail_\x86_64\)

Issues/Not finished content:

  • System Requirements are significantly higher than the base game for similar FPS (i5-8400 or higher recommended)
  • Animations have a bit of stuttering
  • UI glitches and cooldowns show as "ready" when they are not actually "ready" (engine issue when removing UI backing)
  • Map was designed with a very low monitor green color value with a slightly lowered blue value, it still looks good on default monitor settings but you'll be missing a lot especially if you use the reshade
  • Attack animations have conditions where they don't play properly (some of this is an engine issue in Reforged graphics such as when they are just out of vision)
  • Unit responses really aren't done at all since I always keep them off anyway
  • Dying in Metamorphosis as a Demon Hunter causes the character to be bugged severely (Demon Hunter is kinda OP so deal with it uwu)
  • Memory leaks lead to crashes and bad performance over time possibly, 16GB+ RAM with no background programs open is ideal
  • Mana regen randomly increases drastically, (noticed on June 1, 2023), possibly an engine issue
  • Additional unintentionally high damage spikes from invisible AoE mob damage comes rarely from casts just outside of fog of war, engine issue
  • Engine issue where some particles do not appear (fixed by PC restart)
  • Might crash on MAC when using lvl 3 totem... (report if it does, can be fixed by setting "Button X" to default in editor)
  • Sounds that are supposed to be removed (low mana, mouse click sound) eventually get re-added (engine issue but might be fixable?)
  • Engine issue where "Disease Cloud" remains on the character despite no longer having an item which grants "Disease Cloud" under some circumstances

Other STUFF:

  • Built using a high monitor red value, this is recommended in general since most games are heavy green/blue (keep in mind every monitor is different): Red -> 80% | Green -> 10% | Blue -> 50%

(Nov 18, 2020) 0.16.2 Demon Hunter added, Sentry rework, many bug fixes and many hours of debugging for Reforged, lots of cleanup for early game multiplayer in preparation for new endgame content coming over next year

(Dec 18, 2020) 0.16.3 Feral rework, minor bug fixes

Known Issue: broken attack animations on some units with a hack-job fix that causes animation stuttering instead of being missing, happened since reforged, might be porting issue from much older versions as the map is so old, cant find any information on this issue sadly, also probably there are some leftover items that drop that should not drop, although this is a very rare occurrence

(May 2, 2022) 0.19.4 "Hardcore Mode" now the default (heavy losses of gold, lumber, items and levels on death, if you really want the old ezmode -> turn off the trigger called "Hardcore Mode")

(April 21st, 2024) 0.3.0.41 Bomb effects now have a gigantic radius (it's still technically coming from the character but now it will always hit the effect radius properly even if you run away completely, so it's VERY large), profession funds visual overhaul, tons of map tweaks so auras clip less, "Fury" item adds "True Sight" for classes lacking it, "Locust Swarm" attack buff and large spell damage buff on cast, "Sentry" (and evolved form) spell "Fan of Knives" radius significantly buffed

(April 23rd, 2024) 0.3.0.42 Changed Bloodkin model from a hovering Alarak to a walking Alarak (will possibly bring hovering Alarak back as a new Hero)

(April 27th, 2024) 0.3.0.43 "Corpse Explosion" now does a 75% max MP burn along with the previous max HP damage
