Photoshop CS4 issue...

I figure this is the right place to put this.

So I selected an area and I need to fill it with solid white.

But when I use the paint bucket and fill it in, it fades out around the edges. I just want it to be SOLID white and all faded and not outside the selection.

Just select it and press alt & backspace.
You will fill the area with the selected first color.

That just fills it in, same as the bucket does. I think there's some setting or something I must change but I dunno.

Uh yeah that's very weird.
Try to reset some tools?
Did you changed anything lately? I never experienced something like that problem.

I just got a new computer and had CS3 running on the old one, so I just installed CS4 and this is pretty much the first thing I'm editing.
