can ordering to patrol for a while like 5 units cause some lag? or atleast make warcraft 3 take a lot of resources? and if you guys know about other similar things all info is welcome, thx

Depends, if your going to do that periodically, it might, especially if the target area is unreachable. But if your just going to order those five units once then it won't.

If you're talking about a single-time-order, your Warcraft III performance would not even drop a bit.

Yes the pre defined order will not make your war3 lag
If you use a custom patrol in trigger it will not lag too
