For example, do critical strike, bash, and pulverize, when activated count as casted spell? If not, is there a way to trigger it so that you can create something when this goes off?

No, unless you know the unit's normal damage (sans crit) and then have a Unit Takes Damage event.

However, you could just customly trigger the crit/bash/pulverize altogether.

Can you create a custom Critical Strike? I don't think it's possible to retrieve a unit's attack damage...

After a Unit is Damaged, GetEventDamage() is passed.
