This will be the map for a mod i'm currently developing. This mod will be part of my portfolio I send to blizzard so I want everything to look legit. Please give me your blunt politically incorrect feedback. Whats good? What should I change?

EDIT - here is version 2:

Hand-drawn by me then modified by a friend. The panda is modified from Josh Chodorow's "Pandaren"

Get rid of the Pandaren(s) in the corner, they don't fit in at all.
For an old, burnt map the lines are very solid and undamaged. You should make the lines grittier and some should be less visible that others. Your waves look more like mountains, and personal opinion suggest there are too many of them (it's also glaringly apparent that they are duplicates in various angles), make less waves and make each one unique. You should also make them less steep.

I don't think the Isles of Gaia should look like that, make them top-down view as well and rather doodle the hovering rocks near the island, on it or in the corner (with a note). The tree (assuming it's the world tree) can stay.

Lastly, I'd place the compass in the corner, replacing the Pandaren(s).

* note that this is all personal opinion, and is how I would've done it if I were to touch this up further. It's not any more or less correct than another opinion.

Thanks for your feedback

I'm going to see if I can't make a black outline of the Pandaren and then place that there. If not i'll just get rid of him altogether and place the compass there.

The water i'm already trying to improve. I think i'm going to draw a ship and some sort of sea monster with some waves beneath each of them and just place those at two random places on the map to represent water.

updated

- got rid of the mountainish-looking "M" waves
- put in a drawing of a ship and a sea monster to represent the water
- changed the pandaren to a pencil-sketched one by Josh Chodorow
- fixed some spelling errors, added in the name of the "Grey Hills" region, changed the name of Baradin Bay
- changed the background to white
- modified the placement of some objects
- got rid of those horrible looking upside-down "V" mountains and tried to put in some more realistic ones

That's a lot better, but I suggest you try to make the lines "worn out" to give it that look of an old map that you've got going with the borders.

I personally don't think the boat and the Pandaren fit in due to the style, but I guess it couldwork if you try to make it more gritty.

Thanks for all your feedback!

I'm kind of split here b/c on the one hand I agree with you guys that the Panda doesn't fit in at all and I think I should remove it, but on the other hand it just kills me to have a map of Pandaria without a pandaren on it.

Well well, I strongly suggest you to not use any pandaren made by others....
The pandaren that you do want to include should fit your style or the style of the rest, which is made by you. So the best solution you can aim for is drawing a pandaren in the style you used for the rest. You said the rest looks meh? I firstoff don't think that, for me it totally fits in this kind of map. And secondoff there is no problem when your panda looks meh aswell :p
I would give that a shot, really!

This. Ok, maybe you don't have to draw the body of the panda, only a face? Maybe?
