Story Name: Overwhelmed
Written by: Me
WIP
By the way I'm Australian so don't comment on my spelling of: kilometres and some other things.
Humanity, for a long time dreamed to reach the stars, make alien contact, find new planets to make home. It was two thousand and forty six that they actually found a planet suitable for human life and was not far away. Yes, they found it but getting there was another task. So they sent probes to measure how much distance it was to get there from Earth, how much fuel it would take, and how long to get there.
Spectre 001 was the first probe and was the last probe to be sent to the planet, it was a major success as it got all the data. With that data they began to construct the main space ship that would take up to five hundred humans to the planet. The five hundred humans were a select few from the millions that enrolled.
The date was two thousand and fifty eight when everything was ready; the space ship was complete and was named Caesar. All five hundred people were aged between 19 > 33, and were loaded aboard and put into cryogenic sleep.
Billions flocked to their televisions to watch the launch. The launch began, five... four... three... two... one... initial launch phase activated. The space ships rocket engines roared as it slowly began to lift into the sky and eventually space. Once it was in space it activated its gravity sling shot that used the Earth's and the moon's gravity to fling it at a great speed of four thousand kilometres a second.
