Choose your nation, create your army, ready your troops and then battle across the desert sands to be the last force standing!
Open Warfare is a new strategic map based more around battle tactics, unique factions and desperate last stands rather than resource management. At the start of each game your team (which could be two, three or four players, or maybe just you) will get to choose from a number of unique factions each with new units, models and tactics.
Each player will then be given ten "selections" of which they can choose from a varied selection of units from their chosen nation. Upon making these choices the team will have time to form battle lines, hotkey units, build a number of helpful structures (including heavy artillery) and discuss tactics with their peers.
Then the two armies will be unleashed with the last one standing attaining victory. Do not think this a simple mash-fest though, you will have to use all your cunning, skill and perhaps a little micro-management to gain the upper hand. So get out your sword, string your bow and saddle your bull ready for Open Warfare!!
Factions
Imperial: Empire building humans with mighty legions and support troops. With a wide range of units they form a sturdy faction of all rounders. Players of this faction have many options open to them from defensive artillery positions to flanking cavalry attacks.
Ogres: Powerful brutes, leaving destruction and ravaged lands in their wake. This faction are built for melee with every unit being a monster in its own right. While they lack long range and mobility they make up for it in sheer force. Playing such a faction may seem rather dense and easy however ogre faction players must choose the right army and make sure they don't fight the enemy on their own terms.
High Elves: Highly talented warriors, defenders of their ideals of order. The elves offer currently the largest range of units from solid blocks of infantry to elven archers upon the backs of giant eagles. Elven players should use their fast units to harass important enemy units before marching into the kill. Due to the frail nature of elvish warriors proper formations are needed to ensure victory.
Dwarves: Stalwart troops march in the name of the dwarven kingdoms backed by fearsome black powder weaponry. The only faction to have access to cannons and rifles the dwarves have tremendous fire-power at their disposal. Players should use workers to build defensive positions for their mighty guns while defending these with tough infantry blocks. However bee warned cannons are not the longest ranged artillery in the game and can be quite vulnerable so remove threats to them as soon as possible.
More factions will be coming soon, I'm hoping to triple the number there is now. I am also open to suggestions to what the new factions should be.
Credits
Over a dozen talented modellers which at this early stage I will not mention. However I promise that if this map continues production every user will be credited here and within the quest menus of the actual map, they deserve it for their hard work and generosity.

VGsatomi: Approved. Nice concept, however I think this map should use a rematch feature, rather then waiting for so many players just for a 10 second brawl then game over. I'd also recommend placing the player starting cameras in...

VGsatomi: Approved. Nice concept, however I think this map should use a rematch feature, rather then waiting for so many players just for a 10 second brawl then game over. I'd also recommend placing the player starting cameras in the right locations, rather then everyone starting out in darkness in the wrong area of the map.
I felt that this map needed to be re-released so soon after v1.01 due to a number of important fixes and also a vast improvement of its description. Thank you to all those who offered advice and have helped this map improve thus far.
Deleting the map would not do any good cause it was not physically delete.
In other word, it was like you delete the files and the files goes into recycle bin without you going to recycle bin to really delete the existences files.
Okay first of all this isnt based on the warcraft lore, its just plain fantasy. The idea is you dont have gold or lumber you only fight with the troops you start with however engineers are given a small amount of resources to build a few handy constructs. However the map is abit plain i admit and i would like to add more buildings. Hope that answers a few things for you...
