Hello Hive, after just "lurking" here for around 6 months or something like that, I'm back at modelling. I started my Milkshape up (with my surprise, as I thought I had uninstalled it) and started to place some vertex'es, with the idea of making a sword. I know I'm not really good as I lost my yet poor skills, but the problem is: after I modelled it, how do I make it two sided? The only thing I remember is vertex and face. That's all.

I need some clean-up in my memory. If you can find some good advices, I'll be glad enough to listen them.
Thanks in advance :)

P.s: I attached the sword in a Milkshape format. If you want it as something else, just ask. I'll search up some tutorials to remember that too. (God, my memory sucks)

EDIT: By the way, I know the sword's shape is weird. It is just a "test" to get my skills back and maybe improve.

Ah maybe I formulated it wrong but yeah, that's the question to my not-well-formulated question. (that still helped me)
To give it a 3d feeling, I will report a sentence used in HT's (HappyTauren) tutorial:
6.You have got sword finished, but it is one sided. To make it have the other side as well, you must duplicate it (CTRL+D) and then go to Vertex > Mirror front-back. Now weld it (CTRL+W). After that, go to groups, click both groups and click regroup. Now rightclick and select "Smooth shaded". You will see your model actually has a fill. So the geometry of the model is actually complete!@
Actually, using Vertex - Mirror Front Back on the duplicated vertexes and faces, it does absolutely nothing. And so the other things to do unfortunately don't work.

Any ideas? Ty again mate :)

Yeah but in HappyTauren's tutorial, by doing what you said, I just have to weld them together et-voilà! Look at his pictures, it clearly comes out as a 3d sword. I don't get it. Shall I make the "3dness" using face and creating it by myself or there is an easier way, like the one pointed in the tut?

Show me how please :)
You mean filling the "dead" space between the two onesided swords? (which would turn out horribly and I don't think you are saying that)

Or shall I model entirely by starting with box'es?

EDIT: Anyway guys, that's my current progression with that crappy sword. I attached it to the post.
Oh wait, shall I just extrude the model? Would it turn out good?

Ah you mean I shall just face em then. (Givin you rep as sign of my appreciation for your help)

EDIT: You know what mate? I should just try to do some model edits as modelling from scratch isn't that easy as I remember it to be. :)
