I believe:
Art - Caster is what you will see on the unit that's casting the spell. I'm not very sure about the other two, neither am I sure about the first one. Haven't touched W.E for a while now. But I think the special has to do something with: a small chance of that happening on the caster, effect will just be what's going to be on the unit. I am not sure but hopefully you get it.

Art - Caster is a special effect, played upon a unit that performs an ability. Therefore, you can attach that special effect to any of the attachments point, which are listed down there.
Art - Special is used by some abilities, such as ,,Carrion Swarm". In this case, the carrion swarm spell will create a special effect upon damaged units.
Art - Effect is the effect that will be displayed upon your hero before he/she casts a spell or starts to channel one. Applies for targets, points, no orders. This effect is used by Flame strike for an example.
The uses of so many attachment points are logical. Maybe you want to attach a blade to left or right hand, you certainly don't want it attached to head or something.

art - target attachment point 3
not the actual points origin, head, etc

not the actual points origin, head, etc

it has numerous art - target attachment points so that you can attach effects to numerous points

ex.

setting (a.t.a.p. 1) to origin and (a.t.a.p. 2) to head will make the special effect show on both the origin and the head attachement points...

Also I'm pretty sure that there is a tutorial for Channel at the tutorials section (if there isnt, on thehelper...)

o yea i found one on thehelper
but cant you just stick it all on the same atap since it lets you put multiple strings on each one

I'm not sure if it works that way...

Ive only used two strings in one atap for hands, right or hands, left etc...

I havent tried placing hands, head etc...

btw , means its a new string line when you opened the atap...
