[Spell] What are the rules for adding art to custom spells?

I have been making my own spells for a while now and have had varied success in adding various buff or ability art. I am only trying to use the blizzard resources, nothing custom.

I would like to know if there is a resource available which can guide me through the ins and outs of the way the ability and art compatibility system works... I don't really know the difference between art special, art target, art effect, are caster ect ect and what abilities you can add to each. I also would like to know what the string names for attachments are and how that all works.... I looked for a guide but couldnt see one
