Hello! I am currently in the middle of working on a program to convert images into BLPs of all three mode types. I have several proof of concept programs working and have begun design on what will be the end user product. Now the reason I'm creating this program is because I am currently on a mac and I have not found a tool for doing this for my os. Because of this I've been spending my time writing this program instead of actually creating new skins.

So I'm asking the artists here to post some information such as:

What tool you currently use to convert files to blp format

The general workflow of your skins (ie what you create them in and how flexible you are when it comes to saving in different formats (BMP is already supported so for now and jpeg is guaranteed to be next but if another format gets enough attention I will consider writing a importer for that format aswell. )

The things that you find important when doing conversions

The things that are lacking and/or could be improved on in the current tools.

Also as I intend to make this program cross platform I would like to know your opinion on if a command line interface is sufficient or if a GUI is a absolute must-have.

Eventually the goal is a complete suite of tools that run on Windows|Mac|Linux to provide everything needed for WCIII Modding. Besides the blp tools I have also been working with mdx files and have Vertex UV exporters working.

So if your on a Mac or Linux Keep an eye out for these tools!

Edit: If you know a bit about computers or programming or just want to test programs before anyone else
(OR you use a mac and really want a img2blp converter)
just mention that you wouldn't mind testing and the operating system your running on. I'll send prerelease versions for testing to anyone that requests as soon as possible.
