Hello, i am currently woorking on an rpg based map, i was looking for some ideas on items types like weapons, sheilds, gauntlets, helemts, boots etc.

Well, you could a "quality" ranking on your itens.

Like: Ordinary Sword->Tempered Sword->Refined Sword-> and so on.

I guess it sounds somewhat "idiot", but i think you can take this to whole scenario, so you keep the epic itens to quests. Also it's a way that simply allows the players to keep the main quest for a good time, because something that is really boring, it's a map where you are forced to go on with crappy itens and with no chance of your playing skill save you. And the only reason is that some maps just don't give good initial options.

Helmet of the Forgotten Core - Once mined by a dwarf rolling over the Blackrock Mountains. He found the inner core of Blackrock Depth, and decided to mine a helmet out of it. He smelted the helmet out of hardened adamantium, and placed a shard of the inner core at the top of the helmet. This increased his strength and made him stronger and more powerful. In war nobody dare face him in a fight, not until the day when Uther the paladin requested him to a duel. By the power of the helmet, the dwarf was glowing red, and gave lava damage to anyone who got closed to him, except for himself. So maybe he had the power to kill Uther, but the lava was not able to break Uther's holy shield. It was a brave fight, but at the end the dwarf died, smashed down into the ashes of Lordearon by Uther's hammer. The helmet was given to a gnome, who wanted to destroy it. Instead of destroyin it, it destroyed him. The helmet falled down a clifft. and was never seen again, for long time.

Pothycon' Seal of Rightouseness - For long time ago, was there a prince named Pothycon. His father was king of Brugtally, the kingdom of earth and water. Pothycon didnt like the way the elements was forming the castle, it was powerfull magic, which no one should be able to control. So once he decided to kill his own father, and steal the crown of Brugtally. So he could burry it in the shadowfield of Logmar. At his journey back to the castle, to unleash the magic of the kingdom, he was killed by eight knights of Brugtally.
With a sword in his left hand, and the seal of Rightouseness in the right, he died in the fields. And Brugtally was destroyed by it's own magic, when the crown was gone, and the family too, the kingdom was nothing more than a ruin. Pieces of the walls was laying at the buttom of the water, and the gravity was gone.

Amulet of the Gods - For long time ago, a army of death controlled by no one, was killing everything they saw. This army was made by a powerfull wizard, who throw a spell of unholy wrath, over a holy kingdom of furbolgs. Until a deathlord came to visit the kingdom, and gave him a glowing stone, it was glowing green, and were shaking every minute. The wizard took it, and planted it at the top of the throne. But not more than one week after, began all the furbolgs to release. They slaughtered the wizard and left the kingdom.
But one of the gods didnt like that, and came to destroy the furbolgs once more. And to interrupt them in releasing again, he throwed his amulet down into the middle of the corpses. And when the furbolgs was rotten and gone. The amulet was still there. Burried in the earth of furbolgs. Just until someone should find the amulet, and recall the furbolgs. (again)

active --the caster call out battle cry (add attack damage buff to friendly unit) and smite the ground dealing an AOE damage of # (dependent on the attribute of the hero)

Add "lost stability" buff on the enemy for # second.
Enemy also suffer movement speed and attack speed penalty for # second.

whenever a unit attack any enemy with this buff it will trip(make the enemy unable to attack and also dealing # bonus damage on them) the enemy for # second.

Potion of flaming aegis (1 charged potion)
A halo of flame will engulf the user and dealing # damage to nearby enemy unit.
Whenever a enemy is melee attack the user , it will be incinerated (buffed).
Not only dealing damage over time also the effect (incinerated) can be stack
on every attack done by the enemy.
When the (incinerated) stack up to # time . the enemy unit will be engulf by a large wave of fire and dealing an AOE damage to nearby enemy units.
The unit strike by the wave of fire will receive burn damage overtime.

Potion of magic affinity (1 charged potion)
increase Mana regen by #% (dependent on the attribute of the hero) for # second.
also whenever a unit cast spell on user it will replenish # mana(based on the mana cost of the spell) to the user manapool and add extra #% mana regen to it.

when activated causing AOE blind on enemy , enemy will not be able to attack but can move for # second.
All friendly unit within the AOE will become invisible for # second.

volatile acidic concoction (1 charged potion)
cause damage and reduce amour of the any unit within AOE range overtime.
add "corrode" buff to affected unit.The longer the unit stay within the AOE , the greater the level of the "corrode" buff will become.
