How could I make an ability that targets an enemy unit and upon finishing casting, the target would not attack the caster?
Assuming caster is out of target's acquisition range.
When you say the target would not attack the caster, does that mean they are unable to attack the caster? (attack removed)? Or their agro doesn't go to the caster? Or if they try to attack the caster they are told to stop?
Use two triggers: one for when the Caster trigger the spell and the other for when you finish the activation of this spell when the caster finish trigger this spell (this last trigger mentioned), use a command to the target stop. I hope this answer has helped.
No need to have two triggers. Just one. You put a buff to the ability, then on DDS check if Damage Source has buff. Stopping it wont help. It would freeze the game.
Why? It will be ordered to attack that unit again and again. I suggest temporarily making the targets owner treat you as neutral.
