I want to create a new Race for a Campaign.

Here are the details you need to know!

Note: These are Concept and are WIP.



The New Race: The Aetherials​

Appearance & Aesthetic​

  • Design:
    The Aetherials have a distinctly ethereal look that echoes classic Warcraft III models. Think slender, graceful figures with intricate, glowing runes etched into their skin and armor. Their attire combines organic curves with angular, ancient motifs, similar in spirit to Night Elf architecture but with a unique arcane twist.
  • Visual Consistency:
    Every model—hero, unit, and building—should be designed in the classic SD style, with carefully chosen color palettes (muted blues, purples, and silvers) that evoke an otherworldly aura while harmonizing with the original Warcraft III assets. This ensures that when placed alongside standard units, the Aetherials appear as an integrated part of the universe rather than a jarring new addition.

Lore & Backstory​

  • Ancient Guardians:
    Long before the rise of the mortal races, the Aetherials were created by primordial magic to safeguard the balance of the aether—a mysterious source of arcane energy that permeates Azeroth. When a devastating calamity struck, they were sealed away in hidden temples and ruins.
  • Awakening:
    Now, as dark forces begin to disrupt the natural order, the seals weaken. The Aetherials stir and awaken with a singular purpose: to restore their ancient kingdom and protect the world from an imminent, corrupting threat.
  • Unique Abilities:
    In gameplay terms, the Aetherials would harness “Aether Energy” as a unique resource. Their abilities might include:
    • Aether Shift: Temporarily phase out to avoid damage.
    • Runic Empowerment: Enhance nearby units with glowing runes that increase defense or magic resistance.
    • Summon Elemental Guardians: Call forth mystical creatures to fight alongside them.
    • These abilities echo the familiar hero mechanics of Warcraft III while offering fresh, strategic gameplay.

I do not want to write something like this.... But i feel like asking for ENTIRE NEW RACE is way too much, I would say your best bet is to commision some people ( who are taking commisions ) and try to do it that way. And i would also tell you to post some Picture of how it is supposed to look ( inspiration )

Why not use races that Wa666r has already made? They all deviate from the standard wc3 races, and he himself is trying to make campaigns based around those new races. It would save you a lot of time just copy and pasting his stuff, and crediting him majorly in your campaign.

I dont think Wa666r has something to this theme, but I might be wrong.

What I could do maybe to retexture some of them is a possibility.

Or I make a more simpler Race.

I didn't know that! Sry! Then I will set this Thread as solved as it will not suit it I thought it was.
