Murloc Adventures
Murloc Adventures is an RPG for one person. I've not made anything about the story.
Please look at this, and tell me if I should go on making it.
I don't see why not. So far it works ok. It's not the best first person camera system I've seen, but it's not the worst either. All in all a decent start, but there needs to be much more work done before I can give you an honest assessment.
It would work fine for an RPG, but there are a couple of issues that you might want to focus on improving first before doing much more.
The first problem is the Waits in the triggering. Countdown timers are much more reliable and precise for delicate systems like this, so it would be good to switch them out now before you get too far into creating the RPG.
A problem in general with first-person gameplay is the lack of connecting with the character when you can't see them. That's why most first-person games have at least a weapon from the character showing, or the creators end up doing third-person so you can see the entire character. Maybe you could include an option to switch to a third-person view as well?
Anyway, good luck on your RPG. Murlocs make fun playable characters I'm curious to see what other unique things you include (swimming in a first-person perspective?).
How in the world am I going to make a sword or something on the screen? And also, third person works quite bad, because some of the character turns transparent sometimes, and the character moves a bit from the camera and other stuff... Those waits are because I've not thought of that yet, just worked with this in a few hours. PS: Do you like Ratna's voice? Thats me
EDIT
--------------------------------------------
Thank you for showing me your game Tickles! It gave me the idea how to:
Attack
Pickpocket
Have a sword on screen
Great help!
Also, stay tuned, because I've been working much on the game since this was released. The tutorial is completed.
It could work. Generally, try to avoid too many objects that block pathing. Otherwise the movement can get kinda sporadic (which made me a little motion sick).
Oh, I think I played a Turn-Based game that main character is Murloc. Not bad name for the main character of that Murloc . When I played it I didn't spot any lag, when I playing First Person Camera maps sometimes I feel lag. Looking forward to this, Good Luck ! +Rep !
