this will become better if you put some glow around the light.

he's right, maybe add a billboarded glow at the center of the bulb?

If you would try it in-game, its kinda different, has a strong light and its slightly see through

This can be extraordinarily useful, but you should stick a billboarded glow in the center of the globe, as suggested above. If you're not sure what billboarding is, check the gnoll. The ball on the end of his flail is a flat billboarded plane.
