Model Update Bug

I was trying to update my Riderless Undead Horse models, but recieved this error message:

Selected item does not exist

I'm guessing it's a bug, and I hope that the site admin can fix it.

that's a stupid error. It actually means 'selected page does not exist'.
But I tried updating your model from the list of models and from the model itself.
Is it still happening? Tell me what link you're trying to access.

Everyone should be able to update their resources from their "My Models" (or whatever category) page.

I was able to update a model (for another user) last night with no problem: are you sure there's not a conflict with your browser?

If you still cant update it Dan, dump it in a paste bin then send me a link and I'll give it a shot.

I cant update mine, my mutilisk and zergling had same issue so i just reuploaded.

I just went via "My models" and updated there.

I however just then updated Happy Taurens models through model view page and it worked fine.

Wulf. Could you tell exactly which link that doesn't work for you?
Is it when you press "update" and it starts uploading or is it when you click the [ Update ]

Well, I dunno what you mean but after I upload the textures/skins for the model it loads then says what Dan said, about missing object or link or not existing.

Can you put in the link you tried to browse when that error occurred?

The first upload page works fine. But after clicking on the Upload in the second page, the stupid message page shows up.

And there should be no conflicts since I use Firefox and have cookies activated.

Well, there's obviously some scurvy bug in the "My Models" update system: it will be up to the Chieftain to exterminate it (once he determines its exact cause).

Like Werewulf and I said earlier though, we Resource Moderators can still update specific items using our mod tools. And 'wulf also seems to have found an alternate workaround: delete the resource and resubmit it.

Interestingly enough, another user recently experienced some similar difficulties in submitting/updating tool resources. I recommended that he install Netscape Navigator
and try that browser: in his case, that did the trick.

Of course, those are just temporary solutions until Ralle squashes the bug.

Ah well, at least re-uploading works. Undead Horse and Grim Reaper models are updated.

Updating Models

Not sure if a thread for this has been already made, but if so, the bug hasn't been fixed. Whenever I update my model it updates, but it doesn't say it updates. Not sure if it's just me or not, but it's happening to me :C

You have to actually go into the page of your model and then hit update, you can't do it from the list of models.

Hmm, then I don't know, I used to have that problem, but what I said was the issue. Perhaps the uploading/updating system has targeted you for all the malice it may deal out.

This bug has indeed occurred in the past: I thought our exterminator had eradicated it.

Ralle is on vacation this week, so it may be a few days before he has a chance to look into it (again).

As a temporary solution, try installing Netscape Navigator and see if that works.
