Model file portrait pc

When I go to import a file I can't find where I put the portraits

Looked at the how to, and around where it should be, but no luck

There isn't a special spot for portraits, it's part of the model itself and has to be done while making the model. Unless you mean icon? Because icons are in the Art section of the unit, type thing.

Just make sure that when you import the portrait file, its path is set as YourModelPath\YourModelName_Portrait.mdx

Example:
Your model is RatOgre.mdx and you imported it like this:
war3mapImported\RatOgre.mdx
The portrait file must look like this:
war3mapImported\RatOgre_Portrait.mdx
