Hiho,

I am developing a line tower wars map since some time and there I have got a tower which uses the glaives in the following picture:

sharptower.jpg

As you can see one of the three blades is always under the ground and I can't fix this by increasing the model height as it is a structure.
So I need to fix the "stand" animation of this model by increasing the model height by default and by removing the swing on the animation.

However, I don't have any plans how to do this and got not enough time to study model making so I am requesting this model edit here. =)
Of course the person would receive credits for the model edit.^^

The only limitation is that the new model (after the model edit) has got a low file size ...

Besides this problem I have got a question.
You can see that the tower in the picture has got a ground texture.
Is it possible in wc3 to replace the ground texture by a self-made one?
I have made a custom building ground texture and imported it with the correct path:
ReplaceableTextures\Splats\L_HumanUberSplat_mip1.blp

However, it doesn't seem to work. :-/
Does anybody know why or is this not possible in general?

What is the model?

For the ubersplats, you need to put the name without "L_".
The "L_" like "A_", "F_" are for the different types of terrain art but, these are not used by the game. Blizzard put every ubersplat in separated MPQ files inside the main MPQ called A, B, C, etc.

Also, don't use the _mip, replace the main ubersplat. _mip are used by the game.

Hiho,

thank you for your answers.
However, it still does not work for me if I import it as:
ReplaceableTexture\Splats\HumanUberSplat.blp

The only effect is that all towers based on this ground texture have no ground texture at all. xD
So I haven't replaced but removed the ground texture with this method.
Perhaps I am doing something totally wrong here.

Is my file corrupted?
Is the import path still wrong?

edit:
I have already made a 256² image .blp for the ground texture but it doesn't show up either. :-(

something went terribly wrong while making these posts ...

hiho,

no I can't see the ground texture of your map.
I really don't understand why it works for your system and not for mine ...

The ground texture in his screeny was made by me - just used the normal wc3 tile textures and cut them to this piece with a random image program. ;-)

hiho,

@AlienAtSystem:
thx for your tutorial. however, when I convert the building to a unit the flying height is alright ingame but when I change it back to a building (which is needed) the flying height is again set to null.

@JesusHipster:
uff, I don't know where you could get the model.
it is just a simple blizzard model ...

ehm, ... I don't want to make it turn around.
I basically just wanted to increase its height ingame.
however the flying height isn't activ if the unit is a building which is my current problem.
so I decided to need a model edit to increase the base height of the model to fix this issue.

I am using the glaive model of the nightelven huntress. (the missile)
