One can apply buffs to do this, such as Curse (Banshee).

Maybe a negative 100% extra damage critical strike could work, but be aware how critical strike abilities can interact (only 1 can proc for any given attack, selected by internal ordering). It would still show a big red 0 which may not be useful.

An attack damage detection trigger system could be used to negate the damage based on the results of random integer/real rolls. Such systems are fairly accurate but have a small chance to be confused by abilities.
