Mini-map extraction?

Hi. I was wondering how this site automatically extracts the mini-map for uploaded maps. And, is there any chance there is some command line executable I could run on a .w3x file to do it?

You need an MPQ extractor. There is MPQ tools, BahamutZero's MPQ extractor and ShadowFlare's. Also LibMPQ.

Then you need a BLP converter, BahamutZero made something for that as well, Libblp I think it is called.

File -> Export Minimap...

yeah, the problem is i have like 100 maps i want to do this for. I'd rather just have a way to do it in batch or via a command line.

hmm. Nothing I can find clearly states "usable from the command line" or "capable of batch file extraction." And the only way to find out is to install each one until I find what I'm looking for. Do you happen to know what this site uses when a new map is uploaded?

Open a command prompt in your folder.
Assuming WinMPQ is in your Path variable or in the same directory:

for %i in (*.w3x) do winmpq e %i "war3mapMap.blp" & sleep 0.1 & rename "war3mapMap.blp" "%i.blp"

You should now have all of the BLPs.
Next, open BLPLab, and batch-convert all of them to a more friendly format.
