i tell you what woul be cool and very very useful, make a program which can automatically track beats in music. so you know you get a beat every second or whatever, if you could track it so it flashes a light or something each beat. this probably sounds easy but what you would need to do it make it so it can acutally select the back beat even with all the music playing over it. to do this you would need to make an automatic system that manipulates an equaliser to make the back beat the loudest sound and so the easiest to track. then all you have to do it select it when it peaks and make a light flash or something. this would be really useful for DJs and people who make music using programs like fruity loops and cubase. chances are its already been made, but if not it would be a great project.
