Hello,

I have a bunch of Warcraft 1 and 2 models I made in M3 format with Blender for use with Starcraft 2. I wanted to convert them all for Warcraft Reforged and have tried to install the MDL tools listed in this website. It usually brings the option to enable the addon right after "installing" it with blender but it does not do that and it does not appear in my list of addons when I search for it. Does anyone have some insight on this type of problem?

TL;DR : Download « mdl-exporter-2.8 » (if you're using Blender 2.8+), unzip it. Inside this folder, compress the folder « export_mdl » : this is the file that can install the addon in Blender, not « mdl-exporter-2.8 ».

After downloading the github project and unzipping it, you should have a folder called MDLExporter. Inside is another folder called mdl_exporter, one called images, a license file and a readme file. You want to take the file called mdl_exporter and add that to a zip (right click>send to>compressed folder). The resulting zip file is what you select when installing the addon (also try searching for "mdl" in the addon search window). You might need to restart blender before it appears in the list. If it still doesn't work, try installing blender 2.8 instead of the most recent 2.82.
