Review -
Terrain- Lets start with the looks of the map. At first impression it looked ok. Not bad terrain... However it is actually quite plain and bland.
>Terrain looks interesting at first, but becomes boring in a very short period of time. The orange "lava" has no variety to it. The entire map (excluding the pathways and bases) is plain orange. Us humans will get bored of that in a matter of minutes, so definitively add a couple of splotches of redstone or some other tileset. The more variety there is, the more interesting it is. But it can become difficult to get it to look right. Dont over add tiles to completely cover the lava, but dont leave the lava the way it is...plain.
>The paths leading one base to the other looks ok... but again needs a tiny bit of variety (not as much as the laval because its a path, not the "wilderness)
>Doodads??? I dont see any :O again, the map is plain lava. We need rocks! And mushrooms! And lava cracks!
>Bases look interesting. I like them

there cool, almost futuristic. That makes me a happy reviewer!
Gameplay- I like the idea of the game.
>The hero choosing seems easy and fun. The periodic marine waves seem great but heros are a tad bit underpowered. They can hardly kill 2 of them without dieing!
>The turrets in the bases need to be a bit more powerful to, because on the first wave, 10 of the enemy marines came and killed my first turret, and damaged the second.
>One of my favourite touches you added to the game was definitively the citizens going into the training facility and turning into marines. Nicely done ahah. which brings me to the next point
>Capturing the different bases is really fun. Trying to get a ton of marines to attack is great! But i think there should be more variety to them. What i mean by this is more unit types. maybe if you capture one of the bases in the top-middle and bottom-middle you get rocketeers or snipers. if you have control of the top-right you get tanks. i dunno. More variety keeps people interested.
Heros- great for a start!
>All the abilities are somewhat customized from the regular abilities, and have about 4 levels. Thats good, but i suggest 5 levels for all of them, because that allows for better strategies and more tings to choose at later levels
>But, what if, for example, you have blizzard. It does 5 waves with 10 ice things a wave blah blah blah. If you change that to ONE wave with 50 ice shards, now were talking. Thats interesting! A quick spell to cast that is completely different from the long, boring 5 or 6 wave blizzard. Think different, change the abilities!
>The heros look somewhat similar. I suggest you check out
General Frank's models. there great quality, and a wide variety of them to choose from. Plus, there all marines so they will go with the theme.
Be sure to give him credit for those models!
Triggers- triggers are simple, and easy. Thats very important in a map. the more confusing a trigger is, the more that can go wrong.
>Triggers are good, However you should check the tutorials section and learn how to make leak free triggers. Sadly, i have no clue were the tutorials section went after his massive update on the site looks. Leaking triggers can slow down a game! (personally, i dont find them slowing down games, so i dont worry about them too much. Fixing leaks is one of the last things on my list.)
Conclusion- good map, has some potential but needs lots of work. keep it up, dont get discouraged. its gonna be a fun game to play! Just needs more variety. Hope this helped, if you need any additional information about something i might have missed, let me know. Maybe we could host this online and test it once you've done more work! (i can host)
Ratings-
my rating of the game (personal rating about the future of the game and stuff)
4/5
Professional rating (for experienced mappers and big, finished games only)
1.5/5
(dont worry tho... ^the game is unfinished, and its really one of your first games. My first map was removed from the hive maps section because it was terrible)
