Hi people,,

I am currently working on a map,, some sort of Pokemon RPG,,
It is going to be like the gameboy games,, but a little different, with multiplayer,,
I downloaded some music, which i thought would be nice,,
They were of course way too big, so i reduced them from 16 MB (in total) to 1 MB (in total),,
I imported them in the sound editor (not in the import editor),,
But now, my map is 21.000 (or so) KB of size!!
I thought What the Heck??
Anyone has any idea how this is possible?
I imported NO custom models, skins, icons or anything but music yet,,
I made only a little bit of the map yet,,
Triggering is almost nothing yet,,
The only thing i could think of is because the (play map) size, i made it biggest possible, so i would have enough space, and that I could always reduce it,,
The size is epic, 256x256,,

So, anyone any idea???
Tnx!!
Yixx,,

Ya, 21000 kb, that is 21 MB, and i know that it can only be 4 MB, so it is a big problem,,
But WHY, why is it so big?? =S??
Is it maybe that sounds take more then just their filesize in the map???

(It is even too big for a campaign map!!!!)

How many songs did you import? I suggest you cut part of the music off and just loop it, because most of those songs are just huge loops (yes, I've played them :D)

They were all about 1,4 MB each,, (they were no movie, i did it with windows movie maker)
I made them have the worst audio quality,, (it sounds bad when loud, but otherwise quite ok)
So they were very little size,,
I converted them with a program to .wav files (cause Editor cant read .wma files (which movie maker converts them to))
I imported 12 sounds, about 5 battle files,, the rest is win a battle, recovery (in pokemon center) and all those things,,
(BTW making them looping? How? Can you tell me please! That would be very usefull
!!)

EDIT: Omg,, im just SOO stupid, i looked at the size of the .wma files, but the .wav files were way bigger,,
Ill try convert them to mp3,,
But still: How can i make them looping? That would be very nice!

ok, which program do you recommend to compress? I tried various programs, but they all seem to not do what i want, or im just way to impatient,,
And then, when i cut the music in two parts, i need to have a program that loops the one, but after it is looped, can i just make 1 sound of the two again using some program?

So: 1 program for compressing, any idea?
1 program for looping, any idea?
1 program for making 1 and cutting in 2 parts(no movie maker, since it only makes .wma files) any idea?

Ive got to go now, hope you got something for me then
So far, you have all been very helpfull to me!!
Ill be back in 1 hour or so,,

Ok, so lets say i encounter a pokemon in the game, i let it play the encounter song,
wait the length of the song in secs and then move to the arena,
where the loop song is attached to the region,
Does this automatically loop?:
  • Sound - Add Sound[1] across BattleRegion[(Integer A)]
It will play whenever you get into the region, but will it also loop?
I'll try ReplayConverter out! =D
