Im making a unit (Militia) that it can be upgraded to a footman, pikeman or archer.

Their gold cost is like 50, 70, 70 or something like that

They used to work fine (atleast their upgrade cost was right, it only had weird descriptions on the tooltip about the cost of the unit.

Talking in discord there it seems to be a problem with this ability, I always have trouble with this but now it shows as -25 gold for some reason.

Is there a way to do this saffely? it doesnt seem that this ability is reliable. Maybe I can use some triggers. Has anyone done this?

You can use the ability Charge Gold and Lumber, it has a resource cost to use (you can input how much you want), and then trigger the transformation into another unit easily, and you can have several copies of this ability with different order IDs on a single unit, unlike other abilities

It sounds it may be related to the latest patch. It was reported that the latest patch changed the default Gameplay Constant - Gameplay - Use Relative Upgrade Costs to False whilst historically it has been True.
