So I'm asking for any pro here to provide any information on the basic tools I need to do a simple reskin on a model. I'm really looking for a simple yet specific model that's not on here but I figure I could try it myself, don't think it should be that difficult. If anyone has some basic tips or link me to the proper tools to do reskins let me know. Thanks in advance.

lol, well all you need is GIMP you can find that through google, and same with cascview which you will probably need to extract the diffuses you need

when your done with the edit on gimp, use the export as function as name it as something or rather keep the orginal name and make sure to put the .dds at the end and it will bring up export settings use
Compression type : BC1 / DTX1 or BC2 / DTX3 or BC3 / DTX5, (usually i pick the first one, smaller file size, however the other will impact certain diffuses when it comes to thier transparency, like special effects sort of thing, and i have not experimented with other types)
Mipmaps : Generate Mipmaps (make sure this is set)
Filter : Mitchell (this is the filter we need apparently, i havent looked into why or what the differences do but yea lol)

the rest of the options i leave to default, not really sure what they do again havent experimented, got any more questions i guess ask lol
