You can use the tool "Widgetizer" on your map to reduce the loading times. You can also use Vexorian's map optimizer, which can assist to that as well. The widgetizer will reduce it the most, however.
Map file size does not increase loading time. Your game already loads the 1 GB of mpqs if you play TFT so a few MB makes no real difference.
Map complexity however does increase load time. Especially if you have a stupid number of objects in the object editor it can greatly increase load time. I believe this is cause of an O(n) algorthim when loading object data.
Wigitizer works in some way to reduce the object complexity so it loads quicker (I do not know how exactly).
Triggers also have a compile and run load time. More efficent trigger code can improve map load speeds although object data seems to be more demanding.
