Linux rendering issues with Worldedit

Hi guys, this is a longshot, but I'm having some trouble with worldedit on Arch.

I'm running battle.net through Lutris, on Proton 10. I've not had problems running warcraft 3, but the world editor renders with some artifacts.
on some parts of the ui, icons will not appear until I hover over them, and the window behind them appears black.
when I pan the camera on the main window, it stutters and flashes black as well, though it does render correctly when I'm not panning.
I can only imagine this is some issue wine has with rendering windows. the battle.net login screen also disappears when it's not being hovered over.
I've tried to make a lutris install with the world editor as the executable, but it will open up battle.net first and I wonder if my settings aren't applying to world edit directly.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution? I'll post screenshots when I get back from work.

Here is how it looks

Hmm. Not sure if this is your issue but perhaps it might help in some way: [linux] how to World Editor now?
Also, aside the visual nuisance, is there any functionality issue? Can you map regardless of this problem?

Another Linux related thread on B.net: Anyone got 1.30.2 working on Linux (WinE)?
They're old though. Not sure how things are now if you're using the latest game version.

Thanks deepstrasz, I've gotten it so far to stop flickering in the 3D viewport, but there's black behind the icons. from what I remember the UI was pretty glitchy even on windows so I suppose it's something. I'm thinking of trying HiveWE, it's looking pretty good these days.

I'm going to try the advice from these threads as well as post my settings from Lutris when I get back from work so at least others can see what stops the flickering

Just make sure it's backwards compatible as well. From what I remember it's recommended you use it as a last edit measure as maps afterwards saved with it won't open in the original game editor. I could be wrong of course but keep backups of your maps and check on the HIVEWE thread to be 100% certain.

Here are those settings if anyone is interested:

Proton hotfix
Esync and Fsync disabled
-launch as argument (bypasses bnet)

I'm using lutris

Unfortunately, the black background behind the icons has been there for a very long time (10+ years). That was before Wc3 required the bnet launcher and before lutris, so they shouldn't be the culprit (iirc, lutris settings apply correctly to WE). I haven't played around with wine/proton settings for WE much, so I'm also curious if anyone has found a fix for it.
