The new "Effect" that im trying to improve till now. I think i did it right. Comments and Suggestions are welcome.

The flare looks great, but I would say that when you look into the sun like that, you'd be able to see far less/everything would be whitewashed hardcore.

Something like that ? I have made some flares long ago but, never really got to using them.
Though I made them with a single model. My intention was to billboard every segment and to make the flare as a dummy unit in game that would then change facing towards the player and lower vertex transparency at where it should not be visible.

Do you still have that model in your folder? I want to try that.

Yeah I do, it is crappy though. The model is not billboarded as I intended to make it.
You can try messing with it nonetheless.
Though, you can change the textures for some of the cooler flares and magos should be enough to rescale the segments.
