Just Another Underwater Terrain

lately i been spending some time on terrain board and i find alot of people doing sea/under the sea terrain, i spent some time doing one myself, but i came across this problem, how do i set fog to look like under water?

You didn't start this. People have been trying underwater terrains for a very long time. Scenario - Map Options - Fog. Set it to a teal or a blueish. Add weather - Moonlight. Make the fog fairly thick.

ok thx gilles, but i think something is wrong with my terrain, it doesnt look like underwater and it looks kinda empty.

The underwater effect is almost impossible to perfectly achieve. I think you have done a valiant job. It's a good terrain. +rep

Only problem I see is the red rocks. They don't suit at all. Remove them or replace them.

yes i tried to change their color but couldnt, underwater have those things sometimes, but the image quality is very poor for some reason, i can barely see the bubbles on those heat rocks.

Well if you change the red rocks I'd say you were done. Although I think some of the doodads might be floating (No pun intended), hard to tell.

yes actually there are some floating doodads, i couldnt really tell at start until i zoom really in, most of the floating doodads are covered with large grass.

Go to Map Scenario I think and change the colour of the fog.You will understand it there.

Lol... it's anything but empty. And I think it's kinda good, but add more green to the fog tint. I use 000/125/175 for sea fog tint.

I'm sure Void's fog color would be really good, but generally you need to set a fog that suits the terrain, or make the terrain suit the fog.

i think the meaning for empty for me is missing something... i did 0/150/255 maybe thats why, too blue but this is so far the very first underwater terrain, i dont make unplayable terrains very much.

Underwater has many colors. I think your choice is fine.

btw how do i increase height of the doodads and turning them upside down?

For height just Hold Ctrl and hit page up or page down. For flipping go into the object editor, and go to roll value. It will be one of the first few data fields. Make it a negative. Like -1.50 or -1. Keep adding by .5 or even .05 to get the right one.

oh so thats how people build walls with walls? is there anyway not to use hotkeys? cause i easily forget which key when time pass by.

What do you mean. You might be able to change the key in preferences or something.
