Jurassic Park Manager 1.25

Welcome to Jurassic Park Manager !

In this thrilling strategy management game, you’re in charge of a bustling dinosaur park. Your mission is to raise dinosaur in enclosures, ensure the safety and satisfaction of your tourists, and fend off external threats. Here's a breakdown of how to thrive as the park’s manager.

1. Objective

As the park’s manager, you must build and expand your park by placing various dinosaur species into controlled enclosures. Keep the dinosaurs appeased, prevent their escape, and ensure your park is a successful tourist destination. But it’s not just about dinosaurs. Eco-terrorists lurk in the shadows, threatening the safety of your park. You also need to prepare your defenses against various attacks.

2. Dinosaur Management

The heart of your park revolves around your dinosaurs:
  • Types of Dinosaurs: You can select from herbivores, carnivores, maritime or flying dinosaurs. Each has unique needs for space, environment, and food.
  • Tranquilizers and Gas: Use these tools when dinosaurs show signs of aggression or try to break free.
  • Doodads and Tiles: Add, trees, grasses or other natural elements to keep the creatures calm.

3. Tourist Satisfaction

Happy tourists mean good business. To keep visitors coming back and spreading the word:
  • Shops: Build Snacks, bars, and cinemas to provide your guests with entertainment and items to purchase.
  • Amenities: Place restrooms and roads to enhance their experience.
  • Check their mana: Keep their manas high, by hiring activity leaders and exposing big dinosaurs.

4. Defend Against Eco-Terrorists

Not everyone is excited about your dinosaur park. Eco-terrorist groups may attempt to sabotage your operations by:
  • Sabotaging Enclosures: Spies can hack or disable your fences, causing potential dino breakouts.
  • Upgrading Defenses: Build emergency shelters and power backups to ensure minimal disruptions during attacks.
  • Turrets and Soldiers: Local security forces will be needed to repeal any eco-terrorist attack.

It's a very slow paced game but we rarely see building simulator type maps and this one comes with fighting as well. Learning curve is a bit steep, however. Approved. If you want more reviews, you should participate in the The Grand Review Exchange...

Got a game crash at startup, then on another game that started normally but crashed after a long while (possibly a too-many-tourists issue).

-

I can see the pickaxe floating above the site but still not the site itself, and using Gather on the pickaxe doesn't work.

Fortunately "gather closest fossil" works. However, you should slightly reduce the region the excavations spawn in, sometimes they spawn in the cliff so the archeologists can't get to them.

-

Units told to follow a unit tend to not do it, moving to the unit and then not following it. I thought this was only an issue for the attack troops since they're not really "yours", but it also affects defensive troops.

What does the acid attack do on Swamp I rex? Also maybe give Cleaving Attack or splash damage as a body part option (the Desert head doesn't seem to do anything special).

Several times I've played now and rival parks (empty slots) can bankrupt themselves with no intervention on my part.

Rally-point flags are blank white, possibly the same issue as the souvenir shops.

-

Suggestion: have AI/empty parks send dinos (pure and mixed) at random, but only once the player has at least one defensive I rex since it's free for them.

AI parks still get killed as their troops won't go into the park when trained/spawned in response to a dinosaur breaking free (I won Annihilation in around 40 minutes without sending troops or spies because none of them did anything about their escaped dinos). Maybe give them turrets inside the park as part of their spawned buidlings? And/or maybe a new turret type that can only target dinosaurs and knocks them out without refunding them.

Didn't get attacked by dinos this time, but maybe the parks were too busy being dead.

Tips hero timer stops working after an Annihilation victory, possibly after a Capitalism victory as well. There's also no win button to end the map as with Capitalism.

Annihilation victory says attacks will stop, eco-terrorist attacks keep coming (of course by that point it's free money).

There's a terrorist ground unit (didn't see which one) that is classified as air and so isn't targeted by dinos.

If you switch from Security to Roads in the builder menus, the Experiment Lab is still there.

I rex shadows are too small.

OK, I think they're better at not getting wrecked by their own angry dinosaurs. However, I get a game crash while attacking, so I can't say if any had broken free yet (no army troops in the park).

Got a dino sent in an attack wave one time, and it was great.

Experiment lab sometimes gets a random unusable ability with Brilliance aura icon and no tooltip. Since there's also a green glow that occurs on it and some dino cages, I think the cages might have the same problem.

Archeologist needs a better icon, current looks more like a museum employee.
