Item Weapons that Attack

I don't know what to call these and hence haven't been able to search for them anywhere. The items like battleships and tanks that when you buy add an additional fully-specced (cooldown, dps, etc.) attack to a hero or unit. I want to know how to make them, as well as what to call them. Thanks!

These are based off pheonix fire, you can set the amount of targets to 1 (I think) and then it will attack only one unit. The damage is well... the damage and the cooldown is the spell cooldown.

But how to make an item for this? I don't understand the mechanics... Do you have to make triggers for each item that automatically carry out the attacks via spell when items are equipped? Wouldn't that lag? How does it work?

I think i get it, just make an item based off of something and give it item abil based on phoenix fire with no cooldown... Hope I'm right, I'll go try (I've honestly never even messed with creating anything strange in items, and I've made a number of maps, lol...)

Yes,that is correct heres a description
Cooldown - The Time It Takes To Reattack
Duration - The Amount Of Time b4 It Can Attack The Same Target Again
Range - The Max Range It Has To Attack Targets
Buff - The Buff It Adds When It Attacks,When The Buff Wears Off It Can Attack Again
Missle Art - The Missle It Fires

I can't get it to work right. I don't think it's doing damage but I can't be sure, either way no missile art.



I based this off of alleria's flute and just popped the new abil/desc. in.. was that right?

Err what? You're supposed to use Pheonix Fire, that's the skill. Not immolation or anything. It's a normal human ability.

I used the phoenix fire one, it happens to share a buff with permanent immolation. I copied that buff and changed its graphics too, no work either.

I copied "Phoenix Fire (flyer)" as the base...
