is there some way to find the slot of an item in the inventory of a hero?

Loop through each slot until you find the one which holds the item.
You basically do atmost 6 item comparisons against the item you want, and when they match you know which slot it is in.

This is however not taking into account checking for if a native exists which does the same thing.

A BJ exists to find if unit has the item (loops through 0 through 5), but it does not return which slot it's in, it only returns true/false.

yah i looked through the functions and i think ill just do wat Dr Super Good suggested, which i was going 2 do if there was no other way.
