i add an AIhl based ability to my item but it's not even clickable

AFAIK, item can only have up to 4 max abilities associated with it.
More than that, it doesn't count.

yeah thats 4 ability, only 1 active ability

Oh you mean your item can't activate the Active Ability associated to it ?
Make sure the Active Ability is the first in the list, it should be at the top one as priority.
