This is not what i meant, i meant is it possible to to create a entire solar system, and when u go near a planet in a ship you teleport in and the mini map is just of that planet.

Also, is there anyway to create the map bigger than the standard maximum size

Look into the map Solar Conquest for WC3, it may give you some ideas on how to do what you're asking. Also, if you want a bigger map size, going to its border properties and increasing playable boundaries will extend the maps bounds to its maximum size, but beyond 256x256, no, thats what you'll have to work with. You can decrease the size of all your units and buildings and zoom in the camera appropriately to make the map seem bigger, so that could work.

Yeah it is possible but you're talking about making almost a new game engine inside the SC2 one, you should probably start by understanding 100% in and out exactly how the Lost Vikings arcade game works and is built. And also learn how the one unit counters tutorial works (for changing the active map sections). It's not really directly relevant to your project but if you understand how to manipulate the game in that way, you will be able to figure out how to do what you are describing.

Essentially you make the solar system in one part of the map, then create the planets in another part. You can use triggers to restrict camera work to certain areas.
If you want an idea of this, play the game Metastasis and look at the difference between space and being on a ship/station/planet.
It's all one map, just smaller units and slower movement speeds. Solar Conquest is a good idea if you know what to look for considering you can't view the entire map at any one point in time.
In these types of games you're not actually zooming in or out of a planet, you're just creating the illusion or effect as if you were; It's all handy triggerwork.
Hope that helps.
