Hi, I can't really show this as it happened in a game that had gone on for over 2 hours so I'll just try to describe it.

So basically there is a random summon (on kill) that spawns a Zombie that loses HP over time (that's it's "timer"). So you can heal it and such to make it last longer.

However 1 of these Zombies managed to glitch and was permanently stuck at 1 HP, no regen or decay. Additionally it was surviving EVERYTHING that the enemies were putting into it (keep in mind that some of these did 25K damage).
So it was entirely surrounded but just surviving forever.

Anyway to the point I just wondered what would've caused such a glitch?

By how, do you diminish the hp of the zombies? If it is like, reducing hp (Setting hp to hp - x) instead of damage per second, I think it will most likely to be glitched. I am not sure yet. Give it a try.

I have seen a similar glitch before long ago. In a Tower Wars map there was a bug that corrupted the armor of the unit to type "Unknown" which meant that all attacks did 0 damage yet it could still be targeted (which was bad as it meant instant life lost lol).

In your case it sounds like possibly something different was the cause (maybe incomplete death? Or a threshold bug?). However it is also possible that something happened to cause the armor type to be lost.

I never did find the cause of the corrupted armor type bug in that map. For a long time I thought it was patched long ago however it is possible this could be it.

Units weren't meant to have negative life regen unless they had a phoenix ability. It can cause immortal bug which is the reason here. You can try killing it by triggers otherwise no fix.... Maybe cancel out its regen and try again. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it works properly. Fixing its regen will likely give some results, good luck.

Pretty sure the armor bug was fixed DSG.

You could try giving it the disease cloud ability which only affects itself. This can make the unit lose health without firing on-damage events. It also cannot kill the unit but it can reduce it to 1 health so that any damage will easily kill it. It also will not bug as the 1 health limit of disease cloud is an intended game mechanic.

Don't use negative regeneration for such things.

Add permanent immolation and change the targets only to "Self".
That way it will damage itself infinitely until it dies.

You even get an effect for aesthetics that you can change to anything.
Like disease cloud to appear like the unit is "dying of poison"

Thanks for the input guys. I've decided to just give them a generic timer that will kill them of like normal and have given them very good positive regen instead, because they're already dead right?

Anyway thanks again I will remember this for future :D

Firing damage response events is not always desired. Additionally, magic reduction, armor type and mana shield could alter the damage, something that is possibly undesirable.

Well those damage events are basically unit deals damage to itself.

But you're right on magic reduction, armor type and mana shield. That was the easiest solution I can think of at the moment.
