I broke my items?

I have 2 Items, Heart pieces and Magic Beans which when picked up they provide either a +6 Strength or +6 Intellict. Well, Since i added the magic beans the heart pieces stopped being picked upable. I mean, the items are there, but when i right click the item the unit just walks to them and doesnt pick it up, wierd huh? I dont understand what caused this.

I feel dumb already i looked over the items and realized i have the +Stat bonus as item not The Gain as the book

Well I really don't get you

For ex. If you have the Stat Bonus I.E. Strength +1, and put it in a tome-type item it wont let you use the tome, However if you use Permanent stat Strength gain +1 that will work.
