Is it possible to do a Test Map, while warcraft is running, causing it to overwrite the currently running map and test the current?

In Sc2, when you test a map, you can test it again, and it will overwrite the map currently being tested, with the new one. In wc3 I'm getting an this error: Imgur.

I have to close down Warcraft every time I wan't to test my map, which is pretty anoying when I'm just doing small changes and testing every few seconds.

It's just that I'm used to, from Sc2, to test some tiny changes - having to move something a few pixels, and then test again. I'm just not used to having to close it every time I'm done testing a small change, so I wanted to know if it was possible.

I do not think there is a way to automate this.

What you want can kind of manually be done by loading the map inside custom games of a separate Warcraft III client instance. One could exit the current game back to menu, save the changes then load the changed file without closing Warcraft III. However if one has sufficient RAM and a reasonable CPU this will likely take considerably longer than exiting to desktop and pressing the test button again.

that's how we do it..edit - test - close - edit - test - close....hahaha

but sometime i tried opening the main Warcraft and open via creating new map like new game,,,

just to feel the game if it really works,,,

will its my own system,,,

one way of saving time i used excel as my planning to tools..when im AFK from Editor or working in the office
like names / damage / hp /bounty / and everything you want in your map.

this way you can implement it at your editor when you have time,,

Thanks for the suggestions - I think I'll just get used to closing the test window whenever I'm done testing.

I do keep excel sheets for all my data - all units are fleshed out with stats and skills before being made in the editor :)

The main reason I wanna be able to keep testing really quickly, is that when I'm creating my terrain, I might make minute changes every few seconds to test pathing and such, which would make me test my map 2-3 times a minute, and having to close the test window every time, is a pain. I'm used to not having to do that in the Sc2 editor, so thought it natural that it would be the same with Wc3 :)

An easy way to close warcraft is
Alt + Q, X, X
Alt + Q takes you to the quit game menu, while pressing X twice will exit program and confirm the exit. Once you get that muscle memory going, it's really quick and smooth closing warcraft.

I dont remember the hotkeys on editor to start test though. I imagine if you memorized that as well, it would be even easier.
