You can protect it with Vexorian widgetizer or something like this. But with this manipulation nobody will be able to open it
So you can share a copy protected.
Truth is, if the game can open the map, then there is always a way to unprotect it.
The purpose of protection is only that some random kids wouldn't take your map and put it up under their name. Your best bet is that if a person is good enough to unprotect a well-protected map, then they are already good enough to make a better one themselves.
Also, aside from making the map unopenable in editor, there are always tons of ways to hack the game. Ways that you can do absolutely nothing about, unless you code a new WC3.
Hmm , Widgetizer lowers Loading time , well , U should make a backup for your map because after protecting , u ain't be able to open it , so your unprotected version , be will LOST ;D
Use Vexorian Map Optimizer and that's it.
But what Xonok said is also true, as the game can open it, there's always a way to unprotect it. You can additionally protect it by destroying its MPQ Code with ExtProtect or manual Hex Edit. This resultant with MPQ Editors can't open the map.
if your map is good enough, protecting it won't be a bad thing
and yeah, make sure you have a backup file of your map. Once you use a Map Optimizer
your map is unopenable in the world editor but openable in the game. Save the unprotected version at your laptop, so you can edit it for further updates
Download the warcraft 3 optimizer then use ut on your map that you want to protect , Check all the options in the optimizer to sure that you will protect it from editing . When you save it , It is automatically to create another file .
