how to rename a stock animation?

What do you mean by "stock animation"?

animation on a model..like iit have fly anim and walk ani..i want rename walk alternate (fly) to walk

Use http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/tools-560/war3-model-editor-62876/. You can easily rename the animation using that tool. Just click Windows>Sequence Manager, then double click the animation you want to re-name. re-name that animation;click OK; save as mdx file. Your done.
