How To Import a Google Earth image into Starcraft 2 using Blender

In this video, I will show you how to import a Google Earth image/screenshot into a Starcraft 2 map. I recommend watching this in high quality so that you can read. Sorry for no sound nor voice. I thought you could do this by simply...

Print Screen -> Paste in GIMP/Whatever -> Save as BMP -> Import into DDS publishing tools (used to come with DirectX Developer kit, a free SDK from Microsoft) -> Save as DDS -> import into SC2 map and use.

Yeah I think that's how that other guy did it. So that way might be possible too. "Other guy" = whoever posted the Eiffel Tower infestation. This was my own method. Should be possible to use in a scenario if placed correctly. Large flat area maybe?

personally, I would just say that I find it easier to work with it t han GIMP...

Personally, I would point out how this video not only does not show how, but makes things difficult. Just use Paint.net/Gimp/Photoshop and throw the texture on a 1x1x0 box or something.

Definitely worth looking into Statharas. Again, what I showed is just my own method. But it sure sounds like you have something better in mind. You're still the expert here, so you're welcome to show me anytime.
