How to deal damage to unit?

What kind of combination will deal SPELL damage, like Stormbolt and other spells. I'm asking, because I want the magic effect of 33% magic reduction, etc, to take effect.

UnitDamageTarget(whichUnit, target, amount, true, false, whichAttack, whichDamage, WEAPON_TYPE_WHOKNOWS)
