I would like to rotate a unit 90 degrees (at the hip i suppose) so that when viewed by a bird's eye view it will mimic a 2D game like Super Mario Bros. I'll be using raised terrain as ledges/ground. Is this doable with triggers? If not, is this solution to make a custom model with it rotated?

I hope this makes sense! If not please say so :)

Additionally, I want to implement using arrow keys for moving around. If I press up I jump, if I press left/right directions then I'll move in those directions. I have already looked at OneEight7even's key movement tutorial, but its not exactly what I am looking for, can anyone help me?

To do the rotation you must rotate the model, which is pretty easy using magos (magos CAN rotate, right?) or asking any of the many modelers to do it since it should take exactly 5 seconds.

As to the key movement, what your problem? I for one won't make you any full code since it's better the learn the hard way, so, what's your problem with it?

You can rotate it the way you want by changing this in the object editor: Art - Maximum Roll Angle to -90. This will make it lay on the ground facing left when turned 180 degrees. For right you need to change this: Art - Maximum Roll Angle to -270 and set the facing to 0

I don't mean to be rude but that would be rather stupid.
Just put the camera really low and use normal units... There you go, you have a 2D

Haven't played "Soldiers" but I have played Super Mario (your avatar is from there? )
And simply put creating anything rotated at 90 degrees ain't easier than doing so without rotating it.

Yes, in fact I do want to create a Mario game, and later a Mortal Combat game!

But for now I simply want to get straight all of my triggers and I think that Soldiers exemplifies exactly what I want to do the best.

Here are some screen shots that show the explanation of what the keys do (from the loading screen) and jumping and moving. Notice how the Soldier stands, due to 'gravity' on the cliff face. Was this done with regions? Does anyone know how to do this?

Also, this shows how the unit was rotated. I hope this explains things a lot better.

@ The Reborn Devil, yes, thx, darkrider cleared that up in the other post

Also, thanks for all the advice, I just wanted to say that this thread is being discontinued from my end, as I'll be putting all my updates in an edited thread in Map Development called Playdoughrevisited's 2D Battle. I don't want there being multiple threads out there :)
