Maybe I post in the wrong section. I apollogize if I do.
I am having problem with using vJass and editing vJass. My JassCraft (a tool which I use to read and write Jass codes) does not work with vJass codes. JassCraft does not recognize codes such as "private function", "endlibrary", etc. So I download a NewGen WE which is claimed to be compatible with vJass and it does. But my problem is that I want to edit war3map.j and the only way I can do that is by using JassCraft, the NewGen WE cannot open war3map.j, or can it? The map I am editing cannot be opened BY WE, so I need to edit the war3map.j file.

So what should I do if I want to add vJass codes to war3map.j ? Please help,,, Is this problem also caused by the version of my Warcraft3, which is 1.21b?

Thanks a lot.

you could make your code in empty map, compile the map(save it so vJass code compiles) and then export that war3map.j with some mpq viewer.

But how do you want to import the war3map.j into the map that is protected?
Thanks for the reply and the help. I am not sure that I understand your question, my English is not good. I have a tool that can export and import the files of a protected map. It is called "hkeW3MModifier 2.05", but it is in Chinese, not sure if there is an English version of it.

if u r using a program to break protected maps without the creators permission we cant help u.

I just play the map by myself and learn how to use Jass, I don't even use the map to play with my friends, not to mention commercial use (commercial value in a war3 map? lol, maybe there is in some cases). So no copyright infringement. Playing with Jass is not an infringement, just like the application of the law of physics. It is also a kind of fair use by exporting files from others map with the sole purpose of learning Jass. No distribution, no modification, no copying are involved. Furthermore, I don't make war3 maps and I am not capable of and have no interest in doing that.

And I got the help I need from edo494 and your tutorial , thnx.
